Here at Ingleton Primary School our aim is for all pupils to enjoy sport and be physically active. We offer a range of sports in PE lessons to enable children to experience a range of activities. These include; football, tag rugby, hockey, netball, basketball, athletics, orienteering, swimming, dance and gymnastics. We work with the local community to employ experienced sports coaches to teach alongside us to give children the best possible experience. We are also lucky to have Mrs Mercer from Settle College to enhance the sporting experiences we offer.
We endeavour to enable all children to enjoy competitive sport at many different levels. We have inter-house competitions within school, which are led by Year 6 house captains and inter-school competitions within the local area. In recent years we have also participated in county level competitions including; North Yorkshire Quad Athletics Finals and the North Yorkshire Cross-country Competition.
For 3 years running we have achieved the School Games Gold Sports Mark.
Ingleton Primary School was built in 1973 to a semi-open plan design and enjoys plenty of space and lots of natural light indoors. Outdoors we are blessed with extensive, attractive grounds and the school is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
