We are a class of 21 delightful year 1 children who enjoy working and playing in our light airy classroom. We are taught by Mrs Rachael Robinson on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Vikki Bromley on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Mrs Sandra Duffin and Mrs Molly Lloyd are our lovely teaching assistants.
In Year 1 are building on the foundations we learnt in the Foundation Stage. We gain confidence and fluency in reading, are amazed by our ever-improving writing and sparkle as our Maths skills and fluency develop. We still do lots of our learning through play and have fun.
We learn practically where ever we can enjoy our beautiful school grounds and surroundings which provides opportunities for outdoor learning in Geography, History and Art.
CURRICULUM
HOMEWORK
Please read at least three times a week with your child practising their group reading book and phonemes from the previous week. It is important to share storybooks with your child too and your child should regularly bring home a new class library book.
Children will also receive a log in to Numbots. This is an online programme to develop fluency in Maths. We would like Year 1 pupils to have a go at home once per week please.
